Groups

Building Independence with PEACE NW

Join with other adult individuals who are striving to live as independently as possible. Learn about healthy living, budgeting, cooking, wellness and topics of your choosing! This group meets every Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Zoom. This Group is a combination of in person meet-ups and Zoom. We recommend registering for the Building Independence group (link above) to receive notifications for both Zoom and in-person events.

Young Adults Disabilities Group

This group is for young adults with disabilities ages 18-35, their parents, and support staff. The purpose is to connect with each other, find resources, and have a platform for questions and deep discussions. Click here to join the Facebook group.

Link to Care WA Can Help Your Community Access Resources Online

Having access to the internet and a smart device—and having the skills to use them—is essential for a healthy life, improving people’s health care, employment, housing, and social supports. Link to Care WA connects people to low-cost internet and devices and offers free support through a Hotline and website and is available to your communities.

Link to Care WA’s resources are especially important for communities in Washington, as they help people get connected to the internet and learn the digital skills they need to manage their health in a changing world. Link to Care WA helps people use digital health portals and time-saving telehealth appointments.

Any Washington resident can call 866-757-1832 today to get free one-on-one support in multiple languages. Link to Care can help your community learn how to:

  • Set up email 

  • Download and use patient portals and applications

  • Schedule appointments and receive appointment reminder calls and texts

  • Refill prescriptions and receive test results via a patient portal

  • Receive healthcare via a virtual telehealth visit

  • Connect to federal and state programs for subsidized smartphones, i-pads and broadband internet

  • Apply for jobs and housing online

Housing and Urban Development – HUD

Rental assistance to low-income individuals.

HomeChoice Program

HomeChoice is a down payment assistance, second mortgage loan program for qualified borrowers who have a disability or who have a family member with a disability living with them. Funds up to $15,000. HomeChoice combines with House Key and Home Advantage first mortgage loan programs. One-on-on counseling is required.

Maintain Housing Trust Fund 

The Washington State Housing Trust Fund provides funds for the construction, acquisition or rehabilitation of 2,000+ housing units every year, creating rental and home ownership opportunities throughout the state for people below 80% of the average median income.

National Housing Trust Fund

Protects, improves and maintains existing affordable housing so that low-income families can live in quality neighborhoods with access to opportunities.

Share ASPIRE (for housing)

Share ASPIRE—Achieving Self-sufficiency Personal Improvement and Resource Education—is a coordinated system for providing case management, housing, and connection to supportive services in our community for homeless families and individuals. 360-952-8214

Insurance 

Premium Payment Program

Do you have Private Insurance and Medicaid insurance? Apply for the Premium Payment Program! This program provides reimbursement for private health insurance premiums and hence private insurance coverage, when an Apple Health (Medicaid) client has access to private health insurance coverage, such as through an employer or private policy. This does not apply to plans purchased from the exchange for which you receive a subsidy. Click here for more information.

Innovative Services NW

Innovative’s Employment Services program specializes in providing unique employment and/or volunteer opportunities through our Individual Placement and Career Development Programs; both designed to be pathways to employment for individuals with developmental disabilities. Services include placement in community jobs or volunteer work sites, job training and employment support services.

Washington Initiative for Supported Employment (WISE)

Specializes in innovative training and technical assistance to ensure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are a vital part of the workforce.

Vancouver Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)

Helping individuals with disabilities to participate fully in their communities and become employed is our purpose and passion. DVR believes employment contributes to a person’s ability to live independently and everyone has a right to work. Clark County Adult Services

Clark County offers a number of employment, financial planning and community connection services. Community Connections is a program designed to provide individualized supports to assist people to be included into their communities in a variety of ways based on the individual preferences.

Community Employment Alliance

Community Employment Alliance (CEA) is a membership organization, representing  Employment Service Providers for people with disabilities.

Office of Disability Employment Policy

At the Department of Labor. ODEP manages a number of efforts designed to advance disability employment.

Transportation Assistance for Seeking Employment

If you are a low-income resident of Clark County and looking for work, the Human Services Council (HSC) may be able to assist you through our Employment Transportation program. HSC works with numerous community partners who will provide you a referral to these services. Referrals are accepted from WorkSource, The Arc of Clark County, DSHS, Clearview Employment Services, Partners in Careers, and other participating agencies. Employment-related transportation can be accessed for the following types of purposes: *Employment sites *Job training * Job searches *Job interviews * Childcare

Sexual Health Info for Parents, Families & Individuals with I/DD

Sexual Health and Disability class with Austin Lea is a 7 week series class for individuals with I/DD. Each week will have a new topic: reproductive anatomy, how pregnancy happens, ways to prevent pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, making decisions about sex, and lots of time for Q&A. Class begins January 10th, 2022 6pm-8pm.
