Innovative Services NW

Children require a wide range of learning experiences in order to gain skills and abilities that will help them to grow. National, community-based research, design and outreach program that provides modified ride-on cars to children birth to age 3 who experience limited mobility.

WIC (Women Infants and Children) 

The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. 360-397-8459

Infant Case Manager

Provides support and guidance in the care of your new infant and the care of your family from the time your baby is 2-3 months old through his or her first birthday (for those who qualify).

Washington Apple Health 

In Washington State, Medicaid is called Apple Health. Apple Health provides preventative care, like cancer screenings, treatment for diabetes and high blood pressure, and many other health care services.

DDA (Developmental Disabilities Administration) 

Nurture Northwest

Every new parent needs support. Nurture Northwest provides personal mentors for new parents with weekly check-ins from the third trimester through baby's first birthday. It's free and confidential, and it all happens through text.

Child Development Services provide early intervention services designed to meet the needs of a specific child.

  • Birth to three services are designed to meet the developmental needs of each eligible child and the needs of the family related to enhancing the child’s development.

  • Services may include specialized instruction, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, assistive technology, and vision services. Services are provided in natural environments to the maximum extent appropriate.

Head Start – ECEAP

ECEAP serves children from ages 3-5 and families who are income-eligible, as well as children who have a diagnosed disability. ECEAP offers part-day part-year programs that are funded by the state of Washington. 360-896-9912

Innovative Services NW

Innovative’s Early Learning and Child Care Program provides quality education and day care for all children, age 1-5 years old. We serve children who are typically developing as well as those with special needs. (360) 823-5157

Evergreen Public Schools – Special Education 

Free Developmental Screenings are available for children ages birth through five.

Children are screened in the areas of motor, concepts, speech and language by professionals. A hearing and vision screening may also be done. Developmental screening can identify children who are in need of further evaluation and/or participation in early intervention or early childhood services that address their areas of need.

Vancouver Public Schools – Special Services

Children ages 3 to 5 may be served in a variety of program models. Through the district’s Early Childhood Education Program, children receive individualized education in small-class settings to develop communication, motor, cognition, self-help and/or social skills.

Battleground Public Schools – Special Education

Camas Public Schools – Integrated Preschool 

An integrated preschool program for children ages 3–5 years, with and without special needs. Ridgefield Public Schools

The Ridgefield Public Schools provides a continuum of special education and related services for students who require specially designed, high-quality instruction to enhance each student’s academic, social/emotional, physical, and behavioral development in the least restrictive environment. (203) 894.5550

Hockinson School District

Please contact Jenny Ristau at 360-448-6415 or jenny.ristau@hocksd.org for Early Childhood Special Education services (free of charge) for our resident children, ages 3-5 years who qualify under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. 

Washougal School District 

For children 3-5, we offer a developmental preschool for qualifying children If you need assistance, please contact the Department of Special Education Administrative Assistant, Melissa Cleveland at 360-954-3020.

La Center School District 

Special education programs for eligible students will be an integral part of the general educational programs of this district, and will be operated in compliance with federal and state requirements governing special education. The district will provide a continuum of placement options, which may include services within and outside the district depending on the student’s needs.

Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI)

OSPI, Department of Special Education, is here to fulfill the requirements of the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), which ensures that all children with disabilities have access to a free and appropriate public education. SEAC helps facilitate the provision of special education and related services. Their by-laws describe SEAC goals, focus, and responsibilities.

SECS provides training for educators, parents, and service organizations. We collaborate with numerous organizations to assure effective support for students with disabilities.

Supporting special needs students and families of special needs students who formally receive special education services and may require assertive technology to access their education.
