PEACE NW Presidential Recognition
Congratulations Martha Maier on being awarded the First PEACE NW Presidential Award!
Martha is one of our original and longest serving board members, joining PEACE NW in October 2016, before PEACE NW became a reality, and is responsible for helping sculpt the dream that is this organization. Martha has served as President, Vice President, Secretary, and Chair for our Housing Committee and has agreed to continue as our committee chair for housing, and we are so appreciative as she is quintessential to the development of this program. Martha has taken the DD Leadership and Advanced Leadership training through PEACE NW. She continues to be a role model for all of us in her leadership activities as proven by her participation in the yearlong Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training that the county offered thus inspiring her to be one of the driving forces in our DEI work. Before stepping down from her Board responsibilities, she ensured our legal documents were updated and the Bylaws, Fiscal Plan, Whistle Blower Policy, Conflict of Interest Policy, communicated consistent and understandable direction for the organization. Most critical of those documents was the Strategic Plan, which we strive to meet on an ongoing basis.
It is for all these reasons we felt inspired to create a President’s Award in her honor, and
who better would receive our first award by Martha herself? We are so grateful for the guidance and love she has shown us. Congratulations on receiving the
2021 PEACE NW Presidential award!
