Here at Peace NW, it’s our vision that all individuals should have the connection and support they need to live out the life of their dreams. In seeking to make that vision a strong reality, we pursue multiple initiatives and activities to support our communities. Including, but not limited to:
Advocacy
PEACE NW works with families to connect to appropriate services and supports for people with disabilities. An important aspect of this work is through advocacy.
Legislative Action
At PEACE NW, we encourage families to be knowledgeable about the rights of those they are close to with developmental disabilities. And in turn, help them to become strong self-advocates.
Clark County Parent Coalition (CCPC)
Birth to 5 outreach and services to families regarding resource navigation, support, trainings and referrals.
H.O.M.E.
Support for disabled individuals to find and maintain quality, affordable housing.
Special Education Support
At PEACE NW, we understand that engagement with Special Education can be challenging. The team here at PEACE NW is dedicated to helping families navigate through the IEP process, it is our passion, calling, and responsibility.
Trainings
When you participate in training at PEACE NW, you build a community of support and understanding, networking with individuals of similar experiences. Trainings are open to families, individuals, and professionals.
Special Celebrations
Special Celebrations parent group creates inclusive events and community outings for individuals who experience a disability or special health care need and their families to build community and live a full and meaningful life.
Parent to Parent
Support for families based on diagnosis to connect with other parent volunteers with similar experiences for moral/emotional support, resources, and connection from before birth throughout the lifespan.
